Teaching and Christian Education
Teaching is an important part of the whole work of the Church. The purpose of teaching to to help people be the best they can be. Historically in western society the Church played a significant role in education and led the way in the introduction of schools. Slowly but surely the community at large has recognised the value of education and taken on the role of the principal provider of Education in our society.
Wherever the Church has travelled and founded missions both Education and Health have been high on the agenda, equipping and healing are integral to the Gospel. Where have had a story to tell we have also had work to do, and that work has included Education.
There is another facet of Teaching, primarily focussed on the faith and the story of Jesus, the Crucified Messiah.Secular authority is not likely to want to take up the challenge of teaching the faith specifically, and so with Sunday School, Weekly Sermons, Study Groups, Occasional Papers, and even this website All Saints' takes the teaching part of our mission seriously.
